I Method:

Let the three consecutive whole numbers = x, x+1, x+2

As per the question -

x+x+1+x+2 = 1350

3x+3 = 1350

3x = 1347

x = 1347/3

x = 449

Smallest number = x = 449

Largest number = x+2 = 449+2 = 451

Sum of smallest and largest numbers = 449+451 = 900

II Method:

If the sum of n (n is always odd) consecutive numbers is known then the exact middle number = sum/n

As per the question -

Exact middle number = 1350/3 = 450

In the question, the sum of three consecutive whole numbers is given and we know the exact middle number. Then to find the first number, we will subtract 1 from the middle number and to find the third number, we will add 1 to the middle number.

Smallest number = Middle number - 1 = 450-1= 449

Largest number = Middle number + 1 = 450+1 = 451
