Selling price is ₹455. The cost price is more than the selling price, so he incurs a loss in the second case.

पहली स्थिति में -
विक्रय मूल्य = ₹ 555 
लाभ% = 11%
प्रयुक्त सूत्र:
विक्रय मूल्य = क्रय मूल्य (100+लाभ)%
555 = x(100+11)/100
555 = x*111/100
x = 555*100/111
x = 500
क्रय मूल्य 500 रु है। 
दूसरी स्थिति में -
विक्रय मूल्य ₹ 455 है। क्रय मूल्य, विक्रय मूल्य से ज्यादा है अतः दूसरी स्थिति में उसे हानि होती है।
