Eligibility Criteria for IBPS PO/MT 2020:

Educational Qualification:

The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CWE PO/MT exam is Graduation Degree in any of the streams such as BA, BCom, BSc, B.Tech, etc.from a University recognized by the Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained in Graduation should be mentioned at the time of registration for The IBPS Bank PO/MT examination.

A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1990 and no later than 01.08.2000 (both dates inclusive)

Computer Literacy: Knowledge of computer operation is a must as the IBPS PO/MT exam is conducted online.

IBPS PO/MT 2020 Selection Process:

The candidates will be appointed on the basis of their performance in the three stages of the IBPS PO/MT Exam 2020. The IBPS PO/MT selection Process Consist of mainly three phases as follows:

  • IBPS PO Preliminary Exam
  • IBPS PO Mains Exam
  • IBPS PO Interview

Note: The IBPS PO Preliminary Exam is only qualifying in nature, and the weightage (ratio) of Mains and interview would be 80:20 respectively.

IBPS PO/MT 2020 Preliminary Exam Pattern:

  • The IBPS PO preliminary examination will be conducted online and candidates are allocated total duration of 1 hour to complete the preliminary exam.
  • It consists of 3 sections with a total of 100 questions and a maximum score of 100 marks.
  • There is negative marking in IBPS PO preliminary exam and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer attempted by a candidate.
  • It is necessary to clear the cut-off in all 3 sections to qualify for the IBPS PO/MT Main exam.

IBPS PO/MT 2020 Mains Exam Pattern: 

IBPS PO Mains Exam encountered quite some changes last year. Let’s have a look at all these changes in detail.

  • Introduction of Descriptive Paper: Just like SBI PO Exam, IBPS introduced Descriptive Paper in its Mains Examination where candidates will be judged on their written skills. An essay and a letter will be given to candidates to write that will constitute 25 marks and that has to be completed in 30 minutes.
  • The overall time allotted for each section has also been changed.
  • No separate paper will be conducted for Computer Applications. The reasoning is teamed up with the Computer Aptitude section and this entire section will contain 45 questions of a total of 60 marks.
  • The overall time allotted for IBPS PO 2020 Mains Exam has also been changed from 140 minutes to 180 minutes.

  • To be able to move on to the next stage of the exam, candidates have to score above the bank PO cutoff declared by the institute as well as the sectional cutoffs.
  • The marks are not intimated to successful candidates before the interview.

IBPS PO/MT 2020 Interview Process:

  • Candidates who qualify the Mains Exam are finally called for the Interview Process by IBPS.
  • Questions can be asked from Current affairs, banking awareness, and about the candidates themselves.
  • The Interview Process will consist of 100 marks and the minimum marks for qualifying this round will be 40% which is reduced to 35% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories.
  • The weightage (ratio) of the Online Main Exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively.
  • Supporting documents such as educational certificates, identity documents, and certificates of achievement are also checked during the Bank PO/MT interview.

The mains exam is the most important phase of the IBPS PO Exam. Maximum weightage is given to score obtained by candidates in IBPS PO Mains Exam in the final selection to the post of Probationary Officer. Let’s start with the most important thing which you will come across on the day of the Interview which is Document Verification. It is of the utmost importance to get all your documents ready while you go to attend the Interview. The first point of contact on the day of the interview would be the people who will verify your documents. Get all the documents ready to be it original or Xerox copies as per the list mentioned in the notice. And yes, it might create a problem for you in case you will not be able to show the document you are asked for.

 After getting through with the document verification, the interview process will start as per your turn. You will be presented before the Interview panel consisting of 3 to 4 bankers who are senior bank officials with years of experience and knowledge in the banking industry. Read below for more.

  • Introduction Part: Like any other job interview, you will be asked to introduce yourself or tell something about yourself. So, prepare a quick introduction which must include – Your name, the place you belong to, your academic qualifications, Work Experience (if any) – where you work at present, any other specialized or add-on qualification related to computers, etc. You may also mention any foreign language that you can speak or write.
  • Prepare your Professional Resume: It will look more professional on your part if you prepare your Bio-data/ Resume. Do include your experience and achievements in your resume
  • Know the Banking Terminologies: You must be able to answer the questions related to the terms crucial for the banking field and the bankers. You must be able to explain Repo Rate, Reverse rate, CRR, SLR, Marginal Standing Facility Rate, Bank Rate, Base Rate, Savings Deposit Rate, Open Market Operations, etc. Do check the current rate of all the above. There are different components in the salary structure, let's discuss each component one by one:

IBPS PO Basic Pay: The revised basic IBPS PO salary is rupees 23700 - (980 x 7) - 30560 - (1145 x 2) - 32850 - (1310 x 7) – 42020. It means Basic Salary of IBPS PO after 7 Years - Rs 30,560 Basic Salary of IBPS PO after 7 + 2 Years - Rs 32,850 Basic Salary of IBPS PO after 7 + 2 + 7 Years - Rs 42,020. (as per 10th Bipartite settlement)

IBPS PO/MT Salary in India after the Bipartite Settlement:

Wage revision for bank employees is due from November 2017 under the 11th bipartite settlement, which would span five years till 2022. Nearly 8.8 lakh employees would benefit if the 11th bipartite settlement is agreed upon and accepted. There is a provision of timely increment of the pay of the IBPS PO officer as given below:
