RRB Assistant Loco Pilot:

The RRB conducts the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) exam to recruit candidates into the Indian Railways. Railway Recruitment Control Board is a government organization in India. Interested and Eligible candidates can apply online for the post of RRB ALP through the official website http://www.rrbcdg.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria for ALP:

Educational qualification: 

  • Applicants should be 10th pass
  • Candidate need to complete the ITI (approved by NCVT/ SCVT) in any specific trade to apply for this post
  • Candidates who completed the Diploma in Engineering are also eligible

Age limit:

Minimum Age: 18 years

Maximum Age: 28 years

Age Relaxation:

OBC: 3 Years 

SC/ST: 5 Years

PWD: 10 Year

  • There are two parts in this stage, candidates have to qualify these two parts separately
  • Total number of questions asked in this stage is (100+75=175)
  • There are sectional timings for Part A and Part B, 90 minutes and 60 minutes respectively, the total time allotted for the Second Stage of CBT is two and a half hours.
  • There is negative marking for incorrect answers, 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Medical Standard for ALP:

The candidates recommended for appointment will have to pass a requisite medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of the medical fitness of railway staff. The medical requirements against different medical standards for different categories are outlined below:

Note

  • Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgical procedure to correct refractive error are not eligible for the post having Medical Standards A1, B1 and B2.
  • Candidates are advised to ensure that they are eligible as per the medical standards for the posts opted by them.
  • Those who are opting for RRB ALP Post should strictly adhere to the medical standard in terms of physical and visual fitness.
