Indian Air Force Are Invited to Online Application Form for the Recruitment / Admission Under Air Force Common Admission Test AFCAT 2020. The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted by the Indian Air Force. Both male and female aspirants can join flying and ground duty (technical and non-technical) branches through AFCAT 2020. This exam is conducted to recruit Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT 2020:

Nationality: Candidates must be a citizen of India

Educational Qualification:

• Flying Branch: Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation with a minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Candidates have cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with 60%.

Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branches)

• Administration: Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
• Education: Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline.

Meteorology: Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream with a minimum of 50% marks.

Ground Duty (Technical Branch):

• Aeronautical Engineer(Electronics){AE(L)}: Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognized University.

Age limit: The age limits prescribed for the exam are different for different branches.

Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry	Candidates should be between 20 to 24 years. The upper age limit for candidates having a Commercial Pilot License is relaxed up to 26 years.
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch	The age of candidates should be between 20 to 26 years.

Marital Status:

• Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.
• Widows/Widowers and divorcees below 25 years of age are also not eligible.
• Candidates who marry to the date of his application though successful at SSB or medical will not be eligible for training.
• Those who marry during the period of training will be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government.
• Married candidates above 25 years are eligible to apply but during their training period, they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live with family.

Selection Process for AFCAT 2020:

• AFCAT Written Exam is the only criterion for clearing the first stage for the Non-Technical candidates; while AFCAT EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) for the Technical candidates.

Duration of examination: 2 hours for AFCAT and 45 minutes for EKT

All registered candidates are required to appear for the AFCAT online test. The test comprises questions from General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test. The EKT, which is conducted for candidates with one of the choices as Technical Branch, comprises questions from Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical & Electronics. The maximum marks allotted to AFCAT are 300. The test paper of EKT carries a total of 150 marks.

Note:

1. Both AFCAT Written and EKT Exam will be conducted in English Medium only.

2. Each question will consist of 3 marks both in AFCAT written and EKT Exam

3. 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

4. Questions will be based on the metric system of Weights & Measures wherever applicable.

5. The Air Force has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.

Declaration of the result:

The AFCAT result is announced online on the official website. Candidates need to login to their account by entering email ID, password, and captcha code. The result displays the qualifying status, section-wise marks, overall marks, and cutoff marks. On the basis of the AFCAT result, candidates are called for AFSB Interview. 

AFSB Interview:

Candidates declared successful in the AFCAT exam are called for AFSB Interview. The interview comprises three stages.

AFSB centers:  Dehradun (1 AFSB), Mysuru (2 AFSB), Gandhinagar (3 AFSB), and Varanasi (4 AFSB).

Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and discussion test will be conducted on the first day.

Stage II: Psychological tests are conducted on Day 1(Afternoon) and the Group Tests and Interview would commence after the document check for the next five days.

For Flying Branch: Candidates applying for the flying branch are required to appear in the Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS).

Final Merit List:

The final merit list is prepared from amongst the candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in the written exam and AFSB test. All candidates are placed in the order of merit on the basis of total marks secured in written exams and AFSB tests. 

AFCAT Medical Fitness Test:

To qualify the SSB interview round, the candidates should need to have physical fitness. They should need to perform the below-mentioned fitness exam for qualifying the SSB interview:

1. 10 push-ups

2. 1 mile run in 10 Minutes

3. 3 chin-ups

EKT Syllabus Syllabus for AFCAT:

EKT is conducted for candidates opting for Ground Duty (Technical) branch. The syllabus comprises topics from Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical & Electronics. This section comprises a total of 50 questions. The test carries a total of 150 marks. AFCAT EKT is a 45-minute exam and is followed by AFCAT. The total duration for the AFCAT exam is 2 hours and the mode of examination is online.

The AFCAT EKT Exam Syllabus has a General engineering part that is based on the common topics of multiple branches of engineering. Also, based on the degree of the candidate, there are questions from the specialized part.

Salary of Indian Air Force AFCAT:

During training, a stipend of Rs. 52,600 will be paid to trainees of the Indian Air Force. The total duration of the training for AFCAT is 1 year.
