Staff Selection Commission Multitasking Staff or SSC MTS exam is conducted by SSC. SSC MTS recruitment is organized by the Staff Selection Commission for various posts such as:

Peon, Gardner, Daftary, Jamadar, Junior Gestetner Operator, Chowkidar, Safaiwala, etc.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC MTS:

Educational Qualification:

You must possess a pass certificate of matriculation or an equivalent examination from a government recognized board.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age - 18 years

  • Maximum Age - 25 years

SSC MTS Selection Process:

The SSC MTS Selection Process is a two-stage procedure.

  1. SSC MTS Paper I: Written Test

  2. SSC MTS Paper-II: Descriptive Test

SSC MTS Paper I Pattern:

  • SSC MTS Paper I will have four sections.

  • The duration of the SSC MTS Exam will be 90 minutes for General Candidates and 120 minutes for PwD Candidates.

  • The Paper I is an objective type paper with four MCQ’s out of which one will be correct.

  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.

  • No marks will be deducted for incorrect or unattempted questions.

SSC MTS Paper-II Pattern:

SSC MTS Paper-II will be held only for those candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories.

  • SSC MTS Paper-II will be a pen and paper model paper which will be descriptive in nature.
  • The paper consists of one question on short essay writing/letter writing in English or any language included in the 8TH Schedule of the Constitutions.

  • The maximum marks are 50 marks.

  • The duration of SSC MTS Paper-II is 30 minutes for the General Category and 40 minutes for the PwD category of candidates.

Marking Scheme:

  • Paper I consists of 100 questions; each question will carry 1 mark each.

  • Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

  • Paper-II is of qualifying nature and will only test candidates’ elementary skills. It will have a maximum mark of 50. Only those who qualify the paper I will be eligible to write Paper-II.

SSC MTS 2020 Syllabus:

SSC MTS Syllabus For Paper 2:

SSC MTS Paper 2 is intended to test elementary language skills in view of the categorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements.

  • One short essay/letter in English or any other language included in the 8thschedule of the constitution

Paper-II is only qualifying in nature. However, marks scored by the candidates in Paper-II will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate scores equal normalized marks in Paper-I.

SSC MTS In -Hand Salary 2020:

As per the SSC MTS Salary after the 7th Pay Commission, there will be a considerable increase in the current salary which is mentioned with some important points below-

  • After the application of the 7th pay commission, the income of every government employee increased by almost 20%.

  • Multi-Tasking Staff is a general central service group ‘C’ non-gazetted, a non-ministerial post which falls under Pay band-1 (Rs.5200 – 20200) + Grade Pay Rs.1800.

  • SSC MTS in-hand salary is between Rs.18,000 – 22,000 per month (approximately). The salary could vary based on location, allowances, etc.

SSC MTS Grade-Pay with Promotion:

SSC MTS grade pay also increases after every promotion as mentioned below:-

  • After 3 years of service:- First Promotion: Rs. 1900/- 
  • After 3 years of service:- Second Promotion: Rs. 2000/-
